Ruins of the Del Monte Hoisting Works, once a beautiful brick structure, the Del Monte Mill was located a few miles away in Bodie Canyon was also once a beautiful gothic brick structure.
  These and all the other brick buildings of Aurora were destroyed inorder to supply Southern California with used brick for new home construction in the early 1950's.
