Mount Langley sits at 14,026 feet, although the bench mark reads 14,042 feet.  Named after Samuel P. Langley, born in 1834, he was an American astronomer, physicist, inventor, and aviation pioneer.

  The round trip distance from the Cottonwood Lakes trail head via Old Army Pass is just over 20 miles with a elevation gain just over 4000 feet.

  Norma, Tom, Tamura, and I did this as a day hike, this is the longest day hike I have done so far. Goes to show what can happen when you put a good looking blonde on the trail in front of me !

Let's hike up Mount Langley;
