Homer Simpson Mine, California

Before Homer Simpson became a famous cartoon character, he was actually a lazy gold miner in the High Sierra's. Homer was very successful at dodging work and actually ended up with the Mining District named after him as a joke by the local miners.
One night while walking home from the bar he stubbed his toe on a gold outcropping and laid claim to this mine. After one long cold winter with no beer coupled with the fact that the gold ore required actual work to reach, Homer sold his Simpson Mine and drifted off to Hollywood to launch a career in cartoons. And as we all know the rest is history.

Let's explore the Homer Simpson Mine
